Cotton imports from Australia on the rise:

Over the same period, China imported 3.226 million tons of cotton, a decrease by 19.9% compared with the same period of last year. The top three countries for imports are the United States, India and Australia. Among them, Australia surpassed Uzbekistan and ranked third for two consecutive years in the Chinese cotton import market. The year-on-year growth rate of China importing cottons from Australia was 21%, while imports from the United States recorded 18% year-on-year decline. The year-on-year cotton imports from India to China even fell 35%. Besides, exports of China's cotton fabrics maintain growth. In the first three quarters this year, China's cotton fabrics exports accounted for 52% of total cotton textiles exports, amounting to US$ 11.2 billion and 6.88 billion meters; the year-on-year.
